Call of Duty QA staff secure union contract with Microsoft to stop them being treated like cannon fodder

Summary
Employees of Activision-owned Raven Software have reached a union agreement with management, ahead of the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
The agreed upon contract comes after years of negotiations and ensures overtime notice of seven days, as well as avoidance of excessive overtime.
It also includes a 10% wage rise over two years, and possible additional rises through merit and promotions, improved job descriptions and transparency surrounding promotions, as well as expanded disability accommodation and layoff protection.
Shannon Liao reports that the deal allows most of the Wisconsin-based QA team to work remotely permanently.
“How do you progress within QA? How do you get promoted? How do you get a raise?” Raven Software QA tester and bargaining member Autumn Prazuch queried.
The agreement is a milestone in the industry, coming after the Raven Software QA team won the right to hold a union vote in 2022.
