70 seconds makes all the difference under the new Marvel Rivals approach to rage-quitters

Summary
Blade has been added to the playable characters in Marvel Rivals, a free-to-play shooter game.
Developers NetEase Games have also introduced a new system to penalise players who quit competitive mode matches early.
If a player quits during loading, the ban/pick phase, hero selection, or within the first 70 seconds of a match, the match is deemed invalid and they receive a penalty points that scales with repeat offences.
If a player quits after the first 70 seconds, and does not reconnect before the match end, they receive a points penalty and competitive matchmaking ban if their team loses within 90-150 seconds of their disconnection, with the ban and points scaling with repeat offences.
Reconnecting before the match ends and their team wins means they do not get penalised, but if the team loses they receive a points penalty.
Softer wrist-slaps are administered to those who quit early during quickmatch multiplayer.
The most severe punishments are reserved for those who go AFK and disconnect early during competitive.
