Palantir Is Helping DOGE With a Massive IRS Data Project

Summary
Software company Palantir, co-founded by Peter Thiel, is working on a project headed by Sam Corcos, a former SpaceX employee and health tech CEO, to build a “mega API” to access IRS records, according to sources familiar with the matter.
APIs are used to transfer data to the cloud and allow it to be accessed and exchanged between applications.
It is thought that once the data is structured and organised, Palantir’s Foundry software will generate APIs to enable faster connections and machine learning capabilities.
The project is expected to allow users to query the software using AI to search through IRS data.
It is currently unclear who would have access to the information and whether the project would continue under the newly elected Biden administration.
The project would consolidate all IRS data in one place and put it at risk of cyber attack or data breach.
