Pizza chain Pizza My Heart has added a texting function to its ordering process, using chatbot Jimmy the Surfer, developed by AI company Palona.
Customers can ask Jimmy for recommendations, request pictures and ask questions about the menu.
Payment is arranged directly with the driver upon delivery.
Palona’s platform is designed to strengthen brand recognition, using large language models and a memory capability to offer personalised sales guidance.
CEO Maria Zhang said the company aimed to create a conversational interface that encouraged more interactions, and assumed a more effective sales role.
The platform can be customised for different brands, appearing on company websites or Instagram pages.
Wyze, a manufacturer of affordable security cameras, is also deploying the technology.
