DOGE Has Deployed Its GSAi Custom Chatbot for 1,500 Federal Workers

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, has implemented a chatbot called GSAi to carry out administrative tasks for employees at the US General Services Administration (GSA).
Developed over the past few years, the chatbot is designed to handle general tasks, similar to those carried out by ChatGPT or Anthropic’s Claude chatbot.
Employees can use the system to draft emails, create talking points, summarise text and write code.
The introduction of the chatbot is part of a wider plan that has seen around 90 technology employees at GSA laid off, as the agency looks to accelerate its automation plans.
Several other government departments are also reportedly looking at using chatbots, with the US Treasury and Health and Human Services both considering using the technology in customer contact centres.
