Summary
The US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is using an AI tool called CamoGPT to identify and remove references to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) from training materials, according to an internal memo seen by Wired.
The move is in line with a recent executive order from President Donald Trump, which directed the Pentagon to eliminate policies promoting “un-American, divisive, discriminatory, radical, extremist, and irrational theories” regarding race and gender.
TRADOC said in a statement that it will “fully execute and implement all directives” in line with Trump’s order.
CamoGPT, which was developed to boost army productivity and operational readiness, is already in use by around 4,000 soldiers on a daily basis.
The AI tool can be used for a variety of tasks, including developing training programme materials and producing multilingual translations.
