Summary
Open AI’s latest artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, ChatGPT, has disappointed some users who feel it is a downgrade from its GPT-4 predecessor, especially after Open AI’s CEO Sam Altman promised upgrades.
Industry experts and users had hyped the new AI chatbot up to be at least as good as GPT-4, which was introduced in March 2023 and stunned the AI world with its capabilities.
When GPT-5 was released, however, a dedicated Reddit community was left disappointed by technical errors and a lack of sentiment in responses.
Some also lamented the loss of the previous model, with one user stating, “Kill 4o isn’t innovation, it’s erasure.”
Altman has promised upgrades, including doubling the rate limits for ChatGPT Plus users, and improving the system that switches between models.
