OpenAI has begun rolling out its flagship language model, GPT-5, to all ChatGPT users, announcement its newest variant GPT-4o-nano which will be a cheaper and faster AI model.
CEO Sam Altman called it “a significant step along the path to AGI” but admitted it still lacks key traits that would make it reach artificial general intelligence (AGI).
OpenAI has announced two new variants of the GPT-5 model, GPT-5-mini and GPT-5-nano, the former will be available to free users and the later will be only available via API.
Pro users will have access to the unlimited GPT-5 access alongside GPT-5-pro and GPT-5-thinking which allows the model to process a query for longer than usual.
Through a bloggers’ update, OpenAI has published information on pricing, new features, and benefits of the new releases of GPT-5 which aims to be faster, cheaper, and more accurate than its predecessors.
