Summary
Anthropic, a company founded by former Google DeepMind executives including CEO Dario Amodei, held its first developer conference in San Francisco on 16 June, with the focus on deploying AI agents as virtual collaborators.
At the event, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei forecast that the first billion-dollar company with one human employee will be established by 2026.
Anthropic’s AI, called Claude, writes more than 70% of the company’s code and the company is looking to expand into using AI in biology, security and other sectors.
The company offers API credits to biologists and geneticists and claims its new model’s biology abilities are “substantially better.”
As AI models become more capable, Anthiptic staff are transitioning from engineers to managers of autonomous agents.
The company’s spokesperson said that roughly 500 people attended the conference, and that the company has grown to 1,300 employees.
