The annual Google I/O developer conference begins on 20 May and amongst other things is expected to provide updates on Android 16, the AI search experience, and new Gemini interfaces that will be rolled out across Google’s platforms.
The conference will be livestreamed via Google’s I/O website or YouTube channel, and a live blog from Wired’s team in attendance will provide up-to-the-minute updates.
The keynote address will be given by CEO Sundar Pichai, who is expected to focus on AI developments across Google’s Productivity tools, search experience, and Android’s key features.
Google is also expected to give more details on its XR smart glasses, which bring chatbot-style voice interactions to eyewear, and when these may be available for consumers to try.
There are also likely to be updates on Android 16’s design changes and new scam blocking features.
