ICE Is Paying Palantir $30 Million to Build ‘ImmigrationOS’ Surveillance Platform

Summary
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has awarded software company Palantir a $30m contract to develop a brand new tool to track people who are self-deporting from the US.
Palantir has been an ICE contractor since 2011, but the new tool will provide the agency with near real-time visibility on people who areself-deporting, as well as helping ICE to decide who to deport, giving priority to visa overstays.
The tool is part of a new platform called the Immigration Lifecycle Operating System (ImmigrationOS), and Palantir is expected to provide a prototype by 25 September 2025.
ICE claims that it has an ‘urgent and compelling’ need for the new capabilities, which it says are needed to target gangs such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, as well as to expedite deportations as per President Trump’s executive order.
